Dunbeath Heritage Museum will take you on “a journey through the past, places and people of South-east Caithness\u201d. It tells our story from earliest Hunter-Gatherers, First Farmers, Bronze Age, Iron-Age\/Pictish and leading into the Norse\/Viking era. Dunbeath Castle history, farming & crofting community as well as the mesmerising fishing history follow on. Our Heritage Room has a dedicated research area, including census records and selected Collection images on display. Changing exhibitions will feature throughout the year.<\/p>\n

As well as being a hub for the works of Dunbeath-born author Neil M Gunn, the Heritage Museum offers an excellent exhibition and interpretation space, providing a wonderful gathering place for local people and visitors – young and old alike.<\/p>\n
