Many such large stones have been found across the north half of Scotland. The name Picts, meaning painted people, was given to them by the Romans.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">It was found in a rockery in Fortrose in 1989 and is believed to have been a grave slab, with carving on one face.
