Dr John Pyle, known as Jack, was born in Portmahomack in 1895, the eldest child of the village doctor.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Like his father, he also studied medicine. During the First World War, he fought with the Highland Light Infantry, however he joined the Royal Army Medical Corps in the Second World War. Together with his wife, Dr Dorothy Rankin, they provided over 60 years of medical service to the residents of the Tarbat peninsula.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This aspiration set belonged to Jack. The syringe and tubes would have been used to draw liquid substances from the body, with different needles for different parts of the body. Aspirators declined in use with improvements to surgical techniques.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
