This medal was presented to Alexander ‘Alick’ Sutherland of Riverside, Brora, for his part in winning the Pattison Cup for two successive seasons (1903-04 and 1904-05) as a member of Brora Rangers Football Club.
The Pattison Cup was played for in Ross-shire, however, Brora Rangers were allowed to enter the 1903-04 competition.
The Brora players from both cup wins were awarded medals. The Northern Times newspaper reported that Alick ‘as usual, rose greatly to the occasion’.
