Teacup and Saucer
Grantown Museum

This ordinary-looking cup and saucer came from the Girl’s Club in Grantown-on-Spey, established during World War Two.

The club’s original purpose was to knit blankets and warm items for troops at the Front, although it must also have helped galvanised the girls and keep up morale to feel useful. After the war, it continued as a social club.
