Train Closure Notice
Grantown Museum

The Grantown railway closed on Monday 11th October 1965. The railway had been operating for over one hundred years, and was a key route for both trade and tourism.

The line was closed as part of the ‘Beechings Cuts’, a series of major route closures resulting from the nationalisation of the British railway system throughout the 1960s.
