Brick from the Royal Victoria Hotel
Brora Heritage Centre
The flower-embossed brick was probably manufactured in Brora, possibly as a special order from Captain Andrew Ross, who built the Royal Victoria Hotel in 1897.
Sadly, the popular, majestic hotel was burnt down in July 1924, when there was an electrical fault in a first-floor bedroom. This brick was discovered in the garden of a new house built on the site of the old hotel. It gives us a lovely glimpse of the hotel.
