Police Whistle
Highland Museum of Childhood
This police whistle is an early example of the standard whistle issued to policemen throughout Britain during the early 1900s.
This nickel-plated, brass whistle would originally have had a 43cm chain attached so that the policeman could attach it to his uniform. It is engraved with details of the company who made these whistles: THE METROPOLITAN – J. HUDSON & CO – BARR ST HOCKLEY – BIRMINGHAM.
