Recruiting Poster for the Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders by Ian Eadie
The Highlanders’ Museum

Recruiting posters are designed to encourage people to enlist in the Army. They often employ a range of advertising techniques and persuasive devices. Nowadays they are sometimes classed as propaganda, the word referring to information that is promoting a particular viewpoint in a misleading or biased way.

This poster shows a Sergeant in Queen’s Own Cameron Highlander regimental dress and dates from the mid-twentieth century.
